My Car Bit The Dust

I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. When you have close to 300,000 miles on your car it's eventually going to quit running. Mine has finally bit the dust.

I bought the car brand new in 2001 back when I was still on the road doing comedy, travelling around 50,000 miles a year in all kinds of weather. That's the thing about road comis. They have to drive their cars into the grouhd because the can't get any trade-in value on them with that many miles.

My car has gone across country at least three times from Pa to FL, from NC to the Bad Lands of the Dakotas. It has been through alot.

The transmission fell out of it in Layeffette, IN. They saw the out-of-state tags and decided to take advantage of me. That happens quite a bit on the road. They charged me for a new transmission and then just rebuilt the old one and put it back in.

There are alot of crooked people in this world believe it or not. But I got them back. I talked about them on stage that night and now everyone in town knows they're crooked.

Since I'm off the road I'm sure my next car will last much longer. By the way, I'm selling it for $500 if anyone wants to but it. It's been a good car. I swear by Ford Focus. Great mileagle, about 31 M.P.G. Can't beat that.

If that car could talk it would have some great stories to tell,
